School`s name is actually the of King Ludwig's favourite castle, was built between 1870 and 1879, modeled on the Petit Trianon at Versailles, France. Its interior has characteristically lavish adornments, full of mirrors, painted ceilings and gilded cherubs, in a mixture of Renaissance and baroque styles. The surrounding gardens in French, Italian and English style include a garden cascade, artificial grottos. The name of the castle is derived from the farmer family "Linder", who owned a farm at this place. In the park you should visit the Moorish Kiosk and the famous grotto, inspired by the Venus Grotto from Wagner's "Tannhauser" and the Blue Grotto.
